I have begun the CHPLearning training and now I am creating my blog. I am a big fan of this tool. I already have a blog about my son (HarrisonMonroeDoctrine.blogspot.com) so that all of our out of town family can catch up with what is going on here in VA. Now I get to use this tool at work, too!
I see a lot of ways that blogs can be used in the library. I have heard of libraries using blog to inform patrons of upcoming events. Patrons can then comment on the event or make a comment that they won't be able to make it. Very cool!
I can't wait to see what other tools I can learn to use!

Originally I created this blog as part of a library wide training assignment. Now I have decided to put it to better use. I am going to review books for older children and teens. Sometimes finding the right book for older elementary and middle school children is difficult because you have to match reading level with content. For every book I review I will have a summary and scoring system and a list of any objectionable content.
